Gathering Stars is a 7 piece band from Columbus, OH that makes beautiful, powerful, indie soul music. Their groove centric songs are thoughtful, up-lifting and empowering. Vocalists Michelle Ishida, Carole Walker and Stephanie Sambroak take turns singing the lead and telling the stories. They have a unique blend of soothing, fiery and sultry voices. The band members have a deep rooted history in their local music scene and all knew each other from previous bands and shared gigs before combining their songwriting chops into a collective in 2018.
They are currently promoting their new album “A Day In The Life” to be released 5/1/26 across all digital platforms with physical albums and CDs available through their website and a live performance scheduled at Natalie's Music Hall on Thursday May 7th. “A Day In The Life is a collection of songs written between 2023 and 2025 that reflects upon day to day struggles and good experiences that shape our lives as a whole. What we do for work, our connections with our families, friends, neighbors, pets and community. The album is an expression of gratitude for all of the aforementioned beings in our world and how much we appreciate each day we are all here together.”
The first single is “Thanks No Thanks” a cool, unbothered dismissal with a quiet edge—catchy, self-assured, and quietly rebellious, it turns boundary-setting into a mantra.
